Commissioned by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch, this is Wayne Evans, a Cornish fisherman hurled overboard after he had first become tangled in the nets in the dead of night in the Atlantic Ocean. It was Winter. He wasn't wearing a lifejacket. We spoke to Wayne just 3 months later. With the experience still fresh in his mind, Wayne had that 1000yd stare as he recounts a terrifying experience - his thoughts as he disappeared under the waves, of his girlfriend and of his first child. This is a cost-effective medium budget film with a powerful message. It took one day to film and two days to edit.
The second part of this film chronicling the story of Wayne Evans who survived being thrown overboard from his fishing boat, the Ocean Spray, in midwinter in the Atlantic. Commissioned by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch to help persuade other fishermen to wear lifejackets. The final film was subtitled for use on a loop in exhibitions.
